Making great products ...and a difference.

True Nut founder Steve Ryder had a simple idea: Develop a snack business that showcased as many local ingredients as possible, with community support and involvement at its core.

Originally created as a fund raiser for Stonewall Farm, in Keene, New Hampshire and with the encouragement of friends and neighbors, it became apparent our Maple Roasted Almonds had a broader appeal.

In keeping with The True Nut Company’s core principles and to have a philanthropic impact from the very start, we have partnered with local non-profits to help produce our line of roasted almonds.

Partnerships that work.

First Course, a culinary training program that prepares people with physical and emotional challenges to take on jobs in the food service, handles the production of our products.

Monadnock Developmental Services. MDS is a non-profit agency that helps individuals with developmental disabilities live, work and thrive as productive citizens in their communities by providing training, transportation and a safe, supervised environment in which to work.

The folks at MDS have been helping us from the beginning and he really appreciates their hard work and dedication. So much so that Trueman makes sure that 10% of all of the profits from the sale of True Nut products go directly to non-profit organizations like MDS.

Where it all began. Stonewall Farm, is a nonprofit working farm and educational center with a mission to connect people to the land and to the role of local agriculture in their lives. True Nut Founder, Steve Ryder serves on the Board of the farm and while volunteering at the farm's Sap Gathering contest, he was inspired to make maple roasted almonds as a fundraiser for this annual event. When he got home he started to work on the idea with wife Lucy and daughter Lauren and soon they perfected the recipe and the rest, as they say, is history.

There are philanthropic opportunities at these agencies. Anyone interested in assisting with their efforts or contributing financially to the important work being accomplished by First Course is encouraged to contact them by clicking on their names above.
